Relaxing in the Truth

Relaxing in the Truth

As the weeks go by in this time of separation from others I have found that there are good days and some not so good days.  When those not so good days come I discover that even keeping busy doesn’t keep the low feelings at bay. Those moments are when I begin to search for scripture that will turn my day around. Then I decided that if I was going to search for scripture that was uplifting to me then I might as well share the beauty of it with others.  This brought me to the idea of creating scripture verse yard signs.

This week in my weekly meeting with the children and pre-teens in Zoom we studied the Miracles of Jesus.  During the lesson we focused on the verse, 40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” John 11:40. This verse led us to great conversation.  We talked about how even then Jesus was preparing the people for what God was to reveal later on.  As we sit in this period of time remember that truth.  We are to simply believe!  God has the plan already in place.  We have the gift of being able to see the Glory of God because we believe and accept his plan for our lives.

This verse inspired our SFNAZ kids to find scripture that was near to their hearts as well.  During our Zoom, each of them selected the bible verse that helps them to relax in that truth. Then we spent time together as we made our scripture verse signs for their neighbors to be blessed.

I encourage you during these strange times we are living in to find the scripture that allows you to relax in God’s truth. I will leave you with a few of my favorites.

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you. Psalm 55:22

You keep track of all my sorrows.[a] You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book. Psalm 56:8

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Have a blessed week,

Pastor Hope Terhaar
