NAZARENE YOUTH CONFERENCE FUNDRAISER – TEEN FOR HIRE

  • Teen for hire is up and running! If you take a look at the SFNAZ Youth kiosk, you will see all the many jobs our teens can do for you. If you need help with fall clean up, decorating for Christmas, moving, painting, childcare, etc. we have a teen to help you. For more information, contact Jordan Roth.

SFNAZ ATTENDANCE SHEETS

  • Don’t forget to fill out the attendance sheet located on your pew on Sunday mornings. This sheet helps the pastor and staff know who is not in attendance so that we can check in on you to make sure everything is ok.

SENIOR PASTOR CANDIDATE

  • The board has selected a Senior Pastor candidate and the nomination has been accepted. There will be an evening reception on Thursday, November 17th at 7pm in the gym. The candidate and their spouse will be introduced at that time. Pastoral vote by the members of the church (ages 15 and up) will be on Sunday, November 20th during morning worship. Members must be present to vote.

EVERGREEN TEACHER APPRECIATION

  • Thank you to all the ladies who baked cookies and delivered them to the teachers over at Evergreen Elementary.

ADVENT 2022

  • The 2022 Advent devotional books “Let Us Adore Him” are now available. Suggested donation is $5. Pick up one for your family at the welcome desk or from the church office during office hours. **PLEASE NOTE** Due to the Children’s Musical, our Advent schedule is as follows:
    • Sunday, November 20th – Hope
    • Sunday, November 27th – Love
    • Sunday, December 4th – Peace (Vic Morrison preaching)
    • Sunday, December 11th – Joy

NYC FUNDRAISING

  • Still wanting to help our 15 teens raise money for NYC- here are some ways!
    • Envelope Board in all still in the hall
    • November 20th- Brunch right after service.
    • December 7th all church dinner 5:30pm (Soup, salad, bread, etc.)
    • Teen for Hire- need help in the yard, around the house check out teen kiosk for more information.

UPCOMING EVENTS

ALL-COMMUNITY HYMN SING ~ Sunday, November 6th – 3pm

  • Presented by the Spokane First Nazarene Theatre Organ Society. Come sing some of your favorite hymns. Free admission. All are welcome.

SENIOR LUNCHEON ~ Wednesday, November 9th – 12pm

  • Join us at Old European. Call Roberta to RSVP 509-325-0711.

THANKSGIVING MEALS FOR EVERGREEN FAMILIES

  • We are partnering with Evergreen Elementary School again this year to help bless families in need with a Thanksgiving meal. If you would like to make a donation, pick up a shopping list from the All-Church kiosk. If you would rather make a monetary donation and have us do the shopping, please mark your check “Thanksgiving Meals”. All donations need to be received at the church by Monday, November 14th. Keep your eyes open for other ways we will be helping Evergreen Elementary this holiday season.

NYC BRUNCH ~ Sunday, November 20th – 12pm

  • We will gather together after service in the Holy Grounds for brunch to help support our NYC students.

HANGING OF THE GREENS ~ Sunday, November 20th – 1pm

  • Come and help get our church ready for Christmas.

THANKGSIVING SCHEDULE

  • No midweek activities on Wednesday, November 23rd.

WORLD EVANGELISM THANKSGIVING OFFERING ~ November 20th & 27th

  • The Church of the Nazarene’s Thanksgiving Offering for the World Evangelism Fund has been a denominational tradition for more than 80 years.  As it did in its beginning, the offering continues to raise support for missionary causes throughout the World.  World Evangelism Fund envelopes will be available in the pew racks on Sunday, November 20th if you would like to participate in this offering.

NYC WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER ~ December 7th – 5:30pm

  • SAVE THE DATE! Join us in the Holy Grounds to enjoy a meal before midweek activities. Dinner will be prepared by NYC teens and their parents. The cost is $5 per person & $25 for families of 5 or more. All proceeds will go to our teens attending NYC 2023.

Adult ministries

Adult Learning & Growth ~  Sunday – 9:30am

Young Adult Bible Study (Ages 18-24) ~ Mondays – 7pm

  • Young adults are invited to join us on Monday evenings for a new Bible study “One at a Time” by Kyle Idleman at 7pm in the teen loft. For more information, please see Brandon & Nicole Chambers.

Men’s Group ~ Tuesdays – 6pm

  • The Tuesday night men’s group would like to again extend an invitation to join them on Tuesday nights at 6pm in person in the Fireside Room. The group rotates weekly between topical discussion, marriage, church history/apologetics, and scriptural study.

Adult Bible Studies ~ Wednesdays 6:30pm – 7:45pm

  • Adult Bible Study ~ “Gaining Wisdom from Proverbs” in the Fireside Room. Visitors welcome! This class is also available via Zoom. Click here to join Adult Bible Study on Zoom or enter the meeting ID 9664266598 after tapping “Join a Meeting” in the Zoom app.

children’s ministries

CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 

We have been so blessed to have a growing children’s ministry department.  With that growth in the ministry we are in desperate need of volunteers to continue the ministry to our children and pre-teens. If you can give of your time (one or two times a month) for the following areas, please contact Jordan ( jordanr@sfnaz.org)
-Check-in Counter, Wednesday Night 6:10-7:45
-Pre-school teacher and helper on Wednesday Night
 

SUNDAY SCHEDULE 

9:30am  

  • Nursery-Toddlers
  • PreK – Kindergarten Class  (3 year old potty trained through Kindergarten) 
  • Learning & Growth: 1st-3rd and 4th-5th grade classes 

11am 

  • Nursery-Toddlers (Infant through 3 non-potty trained years old) 
  • 1st-5th grade Children’s Church– dismissed after children’s sermon in sanctuary. 

 

Wednesday Night Schedule ~ 6:30pm – 7:45pm 

  • Nursery: Infant through 3-4 years  
  • Christmas musical rehearsal (Kindergarten – 8th grade): During the months of November and December on Wednesday nights we will be preparing for our Christmas musical called, Miracle on Main Street.
  • This year we will be performing “Miracle on Main Street” by Celeste Clydesdale. We are inviting all Kindergarten through 8th grade students to join this wonderful opportunity.  
  • Rehearsals are on Wednesdays 6:30-7:45pm beginning November 3rd through December 15th with the week of November 22nd off.  
  • Dress Rehearsal Dates:
    • December 7th 6:30-7:45(no costumes)
    • December 14th 6:00-8pm
    • December 17th 10:30-1:00pm  
  • Performance Dates:
    • November 27th – 10:45am, sing a couple songs during Morning Worship
    • December 11th – 10:45am, sing a couple songs during Worship
    • December 18th – 10:45am, FULL PERFORMANCE
    • December 24th –  4:00pm sing a couple songs during Christmas Eve service 

JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM ~ Saturday, December 3rd – 3:45pm

  • Come  check out this FREE event to discover Christmas joy!
  • Live Nativity Scene, singing and community.
  • Open to anyone who wants to join meet at 5607 S. Freya St. We’ll be there at 3:30pm to get in line.

HANDS & FEET MINISTRY
  • As many of you know, for many years on the 4th Wednesday of the month the children Kindergarten- 6th grade have participated in a ministry called Hands and Feet. This is a way for them to minister and give back within our church, the Spokane community and even outside the US.  There are so many ways to serve.We are reaching out to you, our church family for help. How can you help?  
    1. Would you like to spearhead one of these evenings? Commitment would be one Wednesday 6:30-8:00, and whatever time it takes to set up. Be in charge. (We will make sure you have plenty of help) 
    2. Do you have a great idea of a way the kids can serve? Please share your ideas and we will find someone to take the lead. 
    3. Show up to help in any way needed! No planning needed. Just come and be a light to the kids.

Worship Team

  • If you have an interest in being a part of the Sunday morning worship team, reach out to David Dixon. We are always interested in exploring how different people’s musical gifts fit into our weekly worship rhythms.

Audio/Visual Media Team

  • Are you a techie or creative person, or both? We are always looking to train additional people how to run our sound system and live streaming system. Or are you interested in helping us create video content to use online or during services let’s talk!
