Last month, we celebrated our High School Seniors. Please continue to pray for them as they begin the next chapter of their lives.

MEMORY CARE IN WASHINGTON
  • Many families with aging adults are unaware of the several available memory care options and programs in their area that can help them support a high quality of life. NYC FUNDRAISER MEETING ~ Sunday, July 17th – 9:30am

  • There will be a meeting in the youth room to go over upcoming fundraising for NYC 2023. NYC takes place every four years and provides an opportunity for high school students from the USA and Canada to be united in a time of worship, teaching, and community service.

RECEPTION FOR PASTOR HOPE ~ Sunday, July 24th – 12pm

  • Join us on the back lawn as we celebrate and thank Pastor Hope for her pastoral service. If you would like to contribute to her love offering, please mark your envelopes “Pastor Hope”.

SFNAZ COMMUNITY LIFE GATHERING (BBQ & Summer Fun) ~ Sunday, July 24th – 12pm

  • Join us after service on the back lawn for a BBQ lunch, inflatables, & water fun. Don’t forget to bring a towel!

ALL-COMMUNITY HYMN SING ~ Sunday, July 24th – 3pm

  • Presented by the Spokane First Nazarene Theatre Organ Society. Come sing some of your favorite hymns. Free admission. All are welcome.

BENEVOLENCE SUNDAY ~ Sunday, July 31st

  • On the fifth Sunday of the month, we take up a separate offering designated for the benevolence fund. This is an opportunity to support fellow church members, and those within the community in need. If you feel led to contribute, please mark your envelope “benevolence”.

SFNAZ FAMILY CAMP ~ September 2nd – 5th (Camp Lutherhaven)

  • Online registration will begin now! Register online @ https://sfnaz.org/events/allchurchcampout/
  • We will once again be at Camp Lutherhaven on CDA lake. We will have tent, RV and cabins available to reserve. A large outdoor chapel area for Sunday service will be available as well. The speaker is TBD. We will have group activities such as: archery, rock climbing wall, ropes course, kayaks, paddle boards, canoes with lifeguards.
  • Cafeteria Meals are available, registration for meals deadline is August 15th .
Fees are as follows:
-$15.00 per person ages 4 and older for weekend activities (includes assess to paddle boards, kayaks, canoes w/lifeguard & group archery, rock climbing wall and ropes course)
-$45.00 per night per RV site for up to 5 people. Each additional person is $15.00 per person per night with a max of 8 people per site. (Includes full hook-up, water, electric and sewer)
-$25.00 per night per tent site for up to 5 people. Each additional person is $15.00 per person per night with a max of 8 people per site.
-$80.00 per night per cabin. Cabins available are: 3 cabins in Good Earth Lodge (sleeps 8-9 people w/restroom & shower).

Adult Learning & Growth ~  Sunday – 9:30am

Men’s Group ~ Tuesdays – 6pm

  • The Tuesday night men’s group would like to again extend an invitation to join them on Tuesday nights at 6pm in person in the Fireside Room. The group rotates weekly between topical discussion, marriage, church history/apologetics, and scriptural study.

children’s ministries

NURSERY NEEDS

  • We are in need of volunteers to help hold/play with babies and toddlers on Sundays and Wednesdays. We would like to continue with a co-op style system. If you have children in children’s dept. we would ask you to give an occasional Sunday to serve.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

  • We have been so blessed to have a growing children’s ministry department.  With that growth in the ministry we are in desperate need of volunteers to continue the ministry to our children and pre-teens. If you can give of your time (one or two times a month) for the following areas, please contact Jordan Roth (jordanr@sfnaz.org)

  • Superhero Month (Preschool/Kindergarten): Come have some superhero fun while learning about the heroes in the bible! We will have new song, crafts and fun superhero snacks!
  • Summer Fun Nights (1st grade – 6th grade)
    • July 6 – Messy Games Night: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy!
    • July 13 – Paint Night: Come create a masterpiece! We will be painting the same painting together being led by Torey Herbert.
    • July 20 – Scavenger Hunt Night: Come ready for some adventure and fun! Kodi and Sheridan Aller are planning a fun scavenger hunt that will end with a summer ice cream treat!
    • July 27 – Movie & Popcorn Night: Join us in the gym for a movie and popcorn! The movie will start promptly at 6:30pm. Bring your pillows and blankets or comfy chairs to sit back and relax as you watch a Clifford the Big Red Dog!

  • Depart church @ 3pm
  • Return to church @10pm
  • Cost: $5 each student
  • Updated Medical Waiver is required.
  • There will not be any youth group events at the church this week.

 

FRIDAY FUN NIGHT (@ the Snyders) ~ July 22: 7 – 9pm

  • Bring a snack to share!
  • We will have a lot of yard games set up ready for competition.

  • If you have an interest in being a part of the Sunday morning worship team, reach out to David Dixon. We are always interested in exploring how different people’s musical gifts fit into our weekly worship rhythms.

Audio/Visual Media Team

  • Are you a techie or creative person, or both? We are always looking to train additional people how to run our sound system and live streaming system. Or are you interested in helping us create video content to use online or during services let’s talk!
