During our transition time at the church, we are constantly evaluating the needs of ministry to align with the calling of our church family and community. With this in consideration, the pastoral team and church board have decided that beginning Sunday, November 7th, SFNAZ will be moving back to one Sunday Worship Service at 9:30am only (this service will continue to be live-streamed). All Adult, Youth, & Children Learning & Growth Opportunities will be at 11:00am.

EVERGREEN ELEMENTARY THANKSGIVING MEAL DONATION

• This year, SFNAZ will be focused on partnering with Evergreen Elementary School to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in the community. If you would like to make a donation, pick up a shopping list from the All-Church kiosk.
• All food donations need to be at the church by Monday, November 15th.
• Keep your eyes open for other ways we will be helping Evergreen Elementary this holiday season.

• Bible study geared towards young adults (approximately ages 18-30) and includes seniors in high school.
• Beginning November 4, this group will meet on Thursdays starting at 8pm in the Fireside Room.
• This study on the Book of Luke, will be co-led by Pastor Shawn and Patrick Herbert (a recent Whitworth grad).

CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We have been so blessed to have a growing children’s ministry department.  With that growth in the ministry we are in desperate need of volunteers to continue the ministry to our children and pre-teens. If you can give of your time (one or two times a month) for the following areas, please contact Pastor Hope at hopet@sfnaz.org

• Preschool/Kindergarten Bible Buddies: Children ages 3 – 5 year olds! Each week the children will have hands-on learning, bible concepts, games, and snack.
• Wacky Wild Wednesdays (Kindergarten – 6th grade): During the months of November and December on Wednesday nights we will be preparing for our Christmas musical called, An Out of the Box Christmas.

This year we will be performing “An Out of the Box Christmas” by David and Celeste Clydesdale. We are inviting all Kindergarten through 6th grade students to join this wonderful opportunity.

Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays 6:30-7:45pm beginning November 3rd through December 15th with the week of November 22nd off.

As many of you know, for many years on the 4^th Wednesday of the month the children Kindergarten- 6^th grade have participated in a ministry called Hands and Feet. This is a way for them to minister and give back within our church, the Spokane community and even outside the US.  There are so many ways to serve.

We are reaching out to you, our church family for help. How can you help?

1. Would you like to spearhead one of these evenings? Commitment would be one Wednesday 6:30-8:00, and whatever time it takes to set up and clean up. Be in charge. (We will make sure you have plenty of help)
2. Do you have a great idea of a way the kids can serve? Please share your ideas and we will find someone to take the lead.
3. Show up to help in any way needed! No planning needed. Just come and be a light to the kids.

STUDENT MINISTRIES

New Wednesday Series
Back to Basics

Tonight (Nov 3) we kick off a new Wed night series called Back to Basics. Our conversations will revolve around big questions like, Who is God?, Who is Jesus?, Who is the Holy Spirit?. These talks will take us through the start of Advent. 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Progressive Dinner moving to Dec 11

In talking with a number of families it has become clear there are a lot of schedule conflicts with the original date set aside for the Progressive Dinner in November. For this reason we are rearranging the schedule. We are now planning the Progressive Dinner for Sat, Dec 11. This will be instead of ice skating as the calendar indicates, we will move ice skating to the new year.

This will be an evening event, the exact schedule is still being finalized. The idea is that we will travel from one home or location to another for subsequent meal courses. For example: appetizers at one house, dinner at another, and dessert at a final destination. If you would like to host one of the meal courses, help with cooking, or help coordinate this event, please contact Pastor Shawn or Pastor Hope

Guys and Girls Small Group Bible Study

• Small group bible studies have resumed. The girls are working through a series called “Anxious,” and the guys are working through a lesson called, “Surrender” with Francis Chan.
• We meet every first and third Sunday from 4pm to 5pm. On the third Sunday we stay later for a hangout time from 5pm to about 6:30pm.

Love in Action – Nov 17

• Our November Love in Action will be our traditional packing of Thanksgiving meals. This year we are partnering with Evergreen Elementary to provide meals for student families. The list of needed items will be in the all-church newsletter later this week. If we finish early we will head to the teen room for a hangout time

Girl’s Greek Freak Pastry Night

• Our next girls night out will be Fri, Nov 19 at the church with Vicki Wintersteen. The event will start at 6pm with a light dinner and then the girls will assist in making an authentic batch of Baklava, a dessert pastry. While the baklava is cooking you’ll watch the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” which if you’ve never seen it will be a treat. If you’re able, bring $5 to help cover supplies. Girls will finish before 10pm.

Guy’s Game Night @ the Snyder’s

• The guys had a blast at Retro Video Games night last month! Once again the Snyder’s are hosting guy’s game night, Fri, Nov 19 starting at 7pm. The theme this time is different card games. Bring a snack to share. The address will be sent by text message.

Teen Worship Team Practices

• We will practice on Wed Nov 10 and Nov 17 at 5:30pm preparing for family worship on Nov 28. This month will be a little different because Pastor Shawn will be gone the day of family worship. Watch for more details in the upcoming weekly text messages.

• Dec 4 – Children’s Winter Wonderland – Sign up to help with this children’s community outreach event.
