SFNAZ Happenings

New Church Office Hours

  • The new church staff office hours (beginning October 5th) are as follows:

  • The “Reflecting God” devotional books for the fall months have arrived. If you would like one, please contact the church office (office@sfnaz.org or 509-467-8986).

Fall Bible Study @ The Longs

  • The Roger and Janice Long will be hosting a new Bible Study this fall at their home.

ADULT MINISTRIES SUNDAY SCHOOL &  DISCIPLESHIP

  • We are so excited to take a STEP FORWARD with a Sunday School/Discipleship group this Sunday following the 9:30am morning service.  Join us for  “Galatians:  Liberty and the Law”.  Please join us in the Holy Grounds as we take the first steps in creating a new normal.   Nothing is looking the same as before, but we are looking forward to embracing looking at ways to speak and teach the Word.

Pastor Appreciation

  • October is Pastor Appreciation Month! Thank you to our wonderful Pastors… Bill & Danene Vaughn, Gary Woodroof, Shawn Stevenson
    and Hope Terhaar. We love you! Your church board invites you to encourage your pastors with a personal note of gratitude.

Piecegivers

  • Piecegivers will start meeting again on Tuesday, October 6th in the gym from 9am-noon. Current Covid-19 guidelines will be followed (wearing masks, social distancing, etc.). All ladies are invited to join Piecegivers. No particular sewing skills are needed; there is something to do for everyone.

The Mix

  • The Mix Leader Training will be held virtually this year via zoom. It will take place on Saturday, October 17th 10am – 3pm. For those interested in attending or for more information, please contact the church office. Registration deadline is October 9th.

 

Sunday, October 4, 2020

Join us for either online worship or for in-person worship in the gym at 9:30am. Pastor Bill will be teaching “Live Joyfully” Philippians 3:1-11. For online worship, you’ll connect the same way you have in the past via both Facebook and YouTube (Be sure to follow us on Facebook or subscribe to our YouTube Channel – SFNAZ Media to know when we are live). Log on a few minutes before 9:30am and look for the LIVE notification.

For those who are choosing to participate in our in-person worship service just a few reminders. PLEASE WEAR A FACE COVERING (masks will be provided to those who may need one) AND PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING. Sanitized chairs will be provided. There will be signs and directions when you arrive. We are asking that you keep your family in your designated area to respect the social distancing requirements.

Bereavement
    • Long time church member Lloyd Brusseau passed away. Please pray for Fran & her family during this time.
    • Long time church member Laurice Crawshaw passed away on Monday afternoon. Please pray for Wayne and the entire family as they mourn their loss. Arrangements will be shared as soon as they are available.

Adult ministries

During this time, we are trying to find ways to stay connected with the church family. We have opened up an Adult Ministries Room on Zoom. If you have not used Zoom before, it is a virtual audio and visual chat room that, depending upon your settings, allows people to see you (via webcam or mobile device camera) and hear you (via computer microphone/webcam or mobile device). For mobile users, you can download the Zoom app. Desktop users can click on the Zoom Meeting Link and follow the instructions. Phone numbers are also provided for each meeting for those who would rather place a phone call to access the meeting. If you have questions, feel free to email the office (office@sfnaz.org) or pastoral team.

Sundays

9:30am 

  • Family Worship:  Tables reserved for families & bags of fun activities for the kids (1st-6th grade) to interact with during the service.
  • Nursery-Toddlers: Infant through 3 non-potty trained years old
  • PreK-Kindergarten Class: 3 year old potty trained through Kindergarten

10:30am 

  • Small Group Discipleship: 1st Sunday of the month  (Classes will be grouped as PreK-Kindergarten, 1-3rdgrade, and 4-6thgrade)
  • Kids Church: 2nd-4th Sunday of the month  (Classes will be PreK-Kindergarten Group and 1st-6thgrade)

Bible Quizzing

  • The bible quizzing team meets the 1st and 4th Sunday in-person (11:30am – 1pm), then on zoom during the 3rd week of the month. We will meet in E6, bring your own lunch and be ready for some bible fun.

Wednesdays 

10am Kindred Moms Coffee and Prayer group

  • Kindred Moms will move to once a month for the Fall.  We will meet on the 1stWednesday of every month. We will begin again on October 7th@ 10-11am.  We will have a Fall craft for the kids and snacks available for everyone. Join us for fellowship and fun!

6:45-8pm Dynamic Discipleship & Bible Learning Lab IS BACK! 

  • We have moved into the building for our Wednesday Night children’s ministry!
    • Nursery: Infant through 3 years non-potty trained
    • Bible Learning Lab: PreK-Kindergarten hands-on bible fun
    • Dynamic Discipleship Classes:1st-3rdgrade and 4th-6thgrade small groups, plus games and fun

Families come join us for some safe and exciting fun! We will have some fun characters for you to meet, silly games you can do from the window of your car, and TONS of candy! Drive Thru participants will vote on their favorite trunk!  Drive thru entrance will be on Country Homes Blvd and will exit at the back of the parking lot.

We are looking for Trunk or Treat volunteers and candy donations.  There will be a $50 MOD pizza gift card to the most creative vehicle! Candy can be dropped off at the church office during office hours and volunteers can sign up  here!

STUDENT MINISTRIES

Wednesday, October 7th @ 6:45pm – In the gym

Gather in the church gym at 6:45pm, we’ll wrap up by 8:15pm. Be prepared to practice social distancing and please wear a mask.

GUYS AND GIRLS DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS RESUME

Sunday, October 4 at 5pm, meeting at the church.

Guys – Shawn along and Rusty Roth are an intentional discipleship opportunity for teen boys. The current study is called “Defined”.

Girls – Pastor Hope and Jordan Roth will resume your meeting and start your new study “Awaken” by Sadie Robinson.
