Pastoral Update – January 7, 2021

I hope that your week has been blessed abundantly by God the Father and the Living Christ.  We were so pleased to be able to share the Lord’s Supper with so many of you last Sunday either in person or through live stream.

It has been a while since we gave an update on Pastor Bill’s health, so I thought I would do that today.  He finished 3 days of chemotherapy on Wednesday, January 6, and will now have 21 days off before having 3 more days.  If nothing changes with a downward trend, he will possibly get a break at that time.  He is tired at times, but he is also having more strength to do some of the things he enjoys about ministry.

His last set of scans (4 weeks in a row) were steady, his blood work was either the same or better than the previous set.  His kidney and liver functions are strong, and his scan showed NO growth in his tumor.  While the first preference is always to see things “shrink”, if it isn’t shrinking, they don’t want it to be growing.  His tumors are stagnant and that is a big praise.

We move forward through these days trusting in the guidance and faithfulness of the Holy Spirit.  We are grateful for the strength He gives us day to day.  Especially this week we have received so much encouragement and positivity from our church family, it has been inspiring for us, and gives us the strength to continue to do the work the Lord lays before us.

Continue to pray for our church during these COVID days.  God is here for us, whatever we are doing, wherever we are going.  Thanks for being “the CHURCH”.

Blessings,

Pastor Danene
