Let My Life Be The Proof of Your Love

Let My Life Be The Proof of Your Love

Let my life be the proof of your love.

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.

“If I sing, but don’t have love,

I waste my breath with every song.

I bring an empty voice,

A hollow noise.

If I speak with a silver tongue,

Convince a crowd but don’t have love,

I leave a bitter taste with every word I say,

So let my life be the proof, the proof of your love

Let my love look like you and what your

Made of,

How you lived, how you died,

Love is sacrifice

So let my life be the proof,

The proof of your love”

We as a society and culture love to record and celebrate great accomplishments!  It seems like there is a constant flow of “best of all time” compilations.  Just about every organization has a hall of fame!   Guinness World Records keeps track of top achievements in a multitude of categories (many fairly bizarre and obscure!) Millions of people make pilgrimages to the NFL and MLB halls of fame each year.  There’s a rock and roll hall of fame.  Even our past Presidents are revered in library’s dedicated to their lives and accomplishments!

But as great as all of those things are, they are temporary and empty.  Paul, when writing to the believers in Corinth, told them that all things amount to nothing if there is one important ingredient missing: LOVE!  Love truly sets us apart.  The effects of its presence on those around us are profound and lasting!  We know from reading God’s word that true love only comes from God!  And if we want to have full and meaningful lives, we must let the love that comes from the Father be what defines us and guides all of our thoughts and actions!

How are you going to love this week?
