I went to the store the other day to buy my favorite ice cream. I couldn’t believe my favorite ice cream cost more. The golden potatoes, that I dearly love, have increased. What is with the price gouge on everything? My favorite bread costs more. Most of you know I love McDonalds. It’s been my favorite place to go forever. I used to have my office there where I would meet others. In the process of going there so much, I developed a friendship with the ones that work there. It has been a fun place for me. About 8 months ago, McDonalds raised their prices on sweet tea. Not on the soda pop, but only on the sweat tea. You can still get a large root beer, coke and any large soda they sell for $1.09. Grrr. Of course, we have all noticed gasoline price increase, but sweet tea is over and above.
In contemplating my favorite things, I am so thankful that Jesus hasn’t changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8.) He is our comforter, protector, counselor, intercessor, helper, and gentle to each one of us. I love that He is available to his children 24/7. Keep that prayer line going. Jesus is still the answer in a changing world.

I will never get over His faithfulness. Here in Lamentations, it says his compassion never fails, great, is His faithfulness. I would be amiss if I didn’t include my favorite song:

Yes, my favorite things have gone up in price, but Jesus Christ is still on the throne. His forgiveness and love is freely given. Thank you, Jesus!
