WORSHIP WITHOUT WALLS @ CAMP LUTHERHAVEN
- Thanks you to Jordan Roth and all who helped make SFNAZ Family Camp 2022 a success! There were close to 100 who worshiped together at the outdoor chapel on Sunday. Thank you Pastor Shawn for the wonderful sermon & David Dixon for the great time of worship!
NOW ACCEPTING KIDS CLOTHING DONATIONS
- We will be accepting donations of gently used children’s clothing & shoes. We will be donating them to a local Kid’s & Teen Closet organization that helps families in need within the community with free clothing for their children. There will be a collection bin available in the Holy Grounds as well as the kid’s Check-in.
PIECEGIVERS PRESENTATION
- On Sunday, August 7th, Stan and Aimee Christopherson came and spoke during the 9:30am class. They were then presented with a quilt from the Piecegivers Sewing Group.
REFLECTING GOD DEVOTIONALS
- The “Reflecting God” devotional books for the fall months have arrived. Find them on Sunday mornings at the information table or stop by the church during office hours to pick one up.
UPCOMING EVENTS
SFNAZ CHOIR MEETING ~ Monday, September 12th – 7pm
- Join us an experience what choir today can be like, where our younger and the older can come together, along with the worship team, and lead the church in praise and celebration of His presence in our lives. All are welcome!

NYC FUNDRAISING KICK-OFF ~ Sunday, September 18th
- September 18th check out the display in Holy Grounds to see how as a church we can support our teens going to NYC in July 2023. We have 12 students already committed to going.
CHILDREN & PRE-TEEN HANDS & FEET MINISTRY
- As a part of the Children’s Hands & Feet ministry, they will be packing up and sending care packages along with notes of encouragement to our SFNAZ college students. A list of items they will be collecting will be available at the All-Church kiosk. All donations need to be received by Monday, September 19th.
- Join us for a motorcycle charity ride on 9/24 that begins and ends in Sunset Park. The entire $10 registration fee will be used to support Big Table, a local non-profit supporting service workers and their families in Spokane, and beyond (more information about their mission is found at Big-Table.com).
- Registration runs from 10:30am until noon on 9/24 at Sunset Park; kick stands are up at noon and the ride will last until 2:30. Food (a barbecue) and fellowship will follow.
- If anyone is interested in volunteering, please reach out to Zachary Curry at 509-385-8885.
- Special thanks to Donnie Adams for creating this course, Mark Snyder for providing the marketing materials for social media, and Vicki Wintersteen for her help coordinating and providing the food for this event.
LIBERTY QUARTET IN CONCERT ~ Sunday, September 25th – 6pm
- Liberty Quartet will be performing for the First Church family. Join us and enjoy this free concert and to worship together.
THE MIX (OTHELLO) ~ Saturday, October 8th – 9am
- The Mix is a training event sponsored by the NW District SDMI to equip and resource pastors and laity. The event will be held at Othello Church of the Nazarene. The cost is $15 per person (includes lunch). If you are interested in representing SFNAZ at this event, please contact the church office by October 2nd.
ALABASTER SUNDAY ~ October 9th
- Alabaster Offerings build buildings for the Church of the Nazarene all around the world. A special Alabaster Box for your gift can be found at the Missions Kiosk.

- The Tuesday night men’s group would like to again extend an invitation to join them on Tuesday nights at 6pm in person in the Fireside Room. The group rotates weekly between topical discussion, marriage, church history/apologetics, and scriptural study.

children’s ministries
NURSERY NEEDS
- We are in need of volunteers to help hold/play with babies and toddlers on Sundays and Wednesdays. We would like to continue with a co-op style system. If you have children in children’s dept. we would ask you to give an occasional Sunday to serve.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
- We have been so blessed to have a growing children’s ministry department. With that growth in the ministry we are in desperate need of volunteers to continue the ministry to our children and pre-teens. - We will kick off our Christmas Musical on 9/28! Wear your favorite Christmas attire to this Christmas party! We will enjoy hot cocoa while frosting and decorating cookies. We will also decorate the room for the season.

- It is one of the most exciting events we do all year! Don’t miss out on dodgeball, football, basketball, volleyball, Olympic swimming pool, soccer, board games, and all the other cool activities we have planned for you. Super 7 is attended by over 500 teens!
- Cost: $25 per student (We must pay at the door so turn your money in early or BE SURE to have it with you that night)
- Invite ALL of your friends and SIGN UP as soon as you can so we can arrange enough transpiration and chaperones for everyone.

- If you have an interest in being a part of the Sunday morning worship team, reach out to David Dixon. We are always interested in exploring how different people’s musical gifts fit into our weekly worship rhythms.
Audio/Visual Media Team
- Are you a techie or creative person, or both? We are always looking to train additional people how to run our sound system and live streaming system. Or are you interested in helping us create video content to use online or during services let’s talk!
