SFNAZ ANNOUNCEMENTS

 LOCAL FOOD PANTRY NEEDS

You may or may not know that our church has a small food pantry. We have food available for our church family and the community. We also serve the homeless who might stop by the office with immediate needs. We will be accepting donations of the following items to restock the pantry.

SFNAZ PICKLEBALL | Fridays 6-7:30p (Begins 9/13)

Looking for something fun to do on a Friday night? Come out and play some pickleball. All ages and skill levels are welcome. For more information, talk to Riley Finnigan.

 

THE CRAGUNS IN CONCERT | Friday, September 13th – 7p

Come and enjoy some wonderful music. At a Craguns’ concert, you can expect to laugh, be challenged and leave encouraged! They will do this through Spirit filled, Christ honoring, musical excellence for people of all ages.

 

SECURITY TEAM TRAINING | Saturday, September 14th – 9-12

Marcy Morrison will be presenting CPR and First Aid training in the Fireside room.

 

MINISTRY FAIR | Sunday, September 29th – 12pm

This will be a special time where you will be able to see all the ministry areas within the

church and discover what area you are able to share your gifts.  Lunch will be served.

 

ORGAN CONCERT | October 4th – 7:00p

Come enjoy Dave Wickerham, Spokane’s Favorite Theatre Organist

LADIES’ TEA PARTY | Saturday, September 21st – 12p

All SFNAZ ladies 10 and older are invited to a Tea Party.  Bring your favorite teacup and saucer.  We would love to hear its story.  Please wear your Tea Party Attire.  The cost is $10 per person.  You can register on Church Center or contact the church office.

MEN’S CLAY SHOOTING | Saturday, September 21st – 8:45a

Come out and “Break Things” with the men and boys of SFNAZ with another fun day of Sporting Clay Pigeon shooting at Landt Farms.  $30 for the shoot, plus your gun and ammo.  Check-in at 8:45am and shooting begins at 9:30am.  Need help paying?  Let us know.  Register on Church Center!  Flyers are available in Holy Grounds.

Life Groups update! The summer break is over and Life Groups are opening up again. Are you looking for a way to connect with SFNaz? Life groups are the perfect way to build community that matters. Check out Church Center or contact the office. We’ll do our best to find a group which will work for you.  Would you like to lead a Life Group? Please let us know by contacting the office. We’ll host a training session as soon as possible.

Calling all young adults (18-30) to come meet with Pastor Lake in the library for a weekly time to hang out and connect with other young adults.

  • October 19 | Nerf and Nachos 4-6 pm This will be a fun afternoon of nerf wars. Bring your own nerf gun if you would like.  We will have equipment for you to use.  This is a great invite for your friends.  Sign up on Church Center.
  • October 31 | Trunk or Treat 5:00 – 7:00pm – Come join your church family for a great evening. There will be food trucks, a coffee truck, bounce house, and lots of candy.
  • November 8 | Family Movie Night with the Big “W” The Story Telling Machine. 6:30pm A movie night for the entire family
  • December 7 | Breakfast with Santa – Breakfast, games, pictures with Santa. Save the date!

SFNAZ YOUTH MINISTRIES

Nazarene’s reaching out around the world

Mesoamerica Youth Congress Gather in Dominican Republic

The Mesoamerican Region Nazarene Youth International gathered 762 participants from 17 countries at the regional youth congress, themed “Surrender,” in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Students were encouraged to surrender their life, will, and desire to God and trust his plan for their lives.

Argentina Nazarenes

A missionary service was held under the slogan ” The Missions Belongs to All”, at the Iglesia del Nazareno Gracias Senor in Argentina.  The purpose was to share that all are called to fulfill the mission where the Lord has placed them.

Disaster relief in the Philippines 

Five Church-type missions were opened because of a collaborative effort of a Nazarene District Response Team and local churches in the Philippines after a flood disaster struck parts of the Davao and Agusan regions.

Youth Gather in Peru 

The city of Trujillo in Peru hosted the regional Congress of Young Nazarene called ” KALEO” 2024.  Delegations from the 10 South American countries gathered, with more than 2,500 participants.

NYI training inspires youth in Myanmar

Pastors and lay leaders of Mercy Church and Mindon Christian Church of the Nazarene in Myanmar gathered in their village for local NYI training. Their experience during the training became a beacon of Hope and resilience to press on amid the difficult circumstances in the Myanmar Central District.

Maximum missions in Dominican Republic 

About 75 people from nine countries on the Mesoamerica Region joined together to carry out a Maximum Mission project in the Dominican Republic. Roughly 300 children were ministered to, and 50 people accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

General Assembly to return to Kansas City for the first time since 1980 !!

The General Assembly Site Commission has unanimously chosen Kansas City, Missouri, as the site of the 31st General Assembly and  Conventions of the Church of the Nazarene.  The next quadrennial event will be held 25 June — 2 July 2027 at the Kansas City Convention Center.

First Church Nazarene Missions

As you know Ray and Sharon Maxwell, will be going on a medical mission trip to Egypt this September 28th through October 12th.

A team of nine will be headed to Cairo, Egypt to show Christ’s love to Sudanese refugees.

They will be working with AWEMA (Arab World Evangelical Ministers’ Association).

Our Church’s Missions board has pledged support for this mission, and you can too… Contact Ray for a list of items that they wish to take on their trip.
