Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” -Deuteronomy 7:9
During this time at home, one project I’ve been working on in the spare moments is to digitize a collection of home video tapes from my parents. These videos chronicle events during my last year of high school, and my years in college primarily. It has been very interesting to discover what was captured on these tapes.
As I continue to watch through these videos, I’ve been thankful. Thankful to look back and see God’s hand at work. To see how God led me in those days. It has been a good reminder in these days of uncertainty. As I look back, I remember how uncertain I was during those years about so much in my life. What college should I attend? Who was I going to marry? How was my call to ministry going to develop?
There are lots of things that are uncertain right now. But, looking back has been a good reminder. A reminder that I am confident that in five, ten, or twenty years from now, when we look back on this year we will see God’s faithfulness.
Pray with me: Lord remind us of your faithfulness. Remind us that in past times of uncertainty you have been faithful. Remind us that even though we may not always see it right now, you are faithful. Thank you for your faithfulness to us; past, present and future. Amen.
