March 26, 2020
I just wanted to update the church family on my health situation. It seems like the days go by and I think I have been better about reporting than I actually have been.
The truth is, nothing is changing from the last 2.5 months. I went off chemotherapy, have been working on my general health, and will see the oncologist in a couple of weeks to receive the next “plan”. We haven’t been silent because we simply weren’t sharing, but rather because there is not anything new to share.
Danene and I have been working diligently at not centering our own lives with ONLY the cancer piece of our journey. And, when we have the ability to talk with you, we don’t want to make the conversation all about us! We want to know what is going on with YOU.
Our update and prayer requests would be:
- My body is resting from chemotherapy.
- I am eating well.
- Please pray for stamina and good rest.
- Please pray for the new treatment plan (unknown at this time).
Let’s pray that this quarantine does its work and we will be able to be together again very soon. It breaks my pastor’s heart each time we are unable to gather as a church community. On the other hand, I am so proud of our tech team led by Pastor Shawn and Terry Torkelson for their many long hours keeping us connected through technology.
“But I have trusted in your faithful love. My heart will rejoice at your salvation. Yes, I will sing to the LORD because he has been good to me.” Psalm 13:5-6
I want to give witness to God’s faithful love to me. I will continue to praise Him in all circumstances. Danene and I are praying through the church directory over your names. For some of you, we can actually name a request. When we aren’t aware of a specific request we pray over your homes and family. Our love for the people of Spokane First is a deep love; a family love. Our prayer is that each of you will feel our love, the love of our great church family and most of all, feel the faithful love of the Living God.
Blessings,
Pastor Bill
