I just found out that February 20 was “HOODIE-HOO DAY”. It is actually a holiday when residents of the Northern Hemisphere, tired of winter, step outside at noon, wave their hands over their heads and yell “HOODIE-HOO!” This unusual action is supposed to mean that SPRING is only a month away! Please tell me that all of you did this
Throughout the last week or so I have noticed #2, #6, #7- these reflect temperature. I seem to move slower when it is this cold. Even though I know it shouldn’t be true, I think the computer runs slower, the car warms up slower and people can tend to be just a little bit on the “cranky” side.
Lord tell their story- those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west and north and south.” Psalm 107:1-3
We are redeemed! He calls us by name. God has redeemed us from the power of the enemy. This is my encouragement! This is God’s Word to my heart! No matter the weather, the world news or life’s difficult days, we are the redeemed of the Lord.
From an earthly perspective it would be much easier to go outside at noon, wave my hands over my head and yell, “HOODIE-HOO” while waiting for all the difficult places of life to leave right along with the winter.
The scripture says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story!” Go tell your story of redemption to someone who may not have heard of God’s faithfulness and goodness. In this season of Lent, as we wait for Spring and the celebration of the resurrection, please reflect and tell your story of God’s redemption and faithfulness.
Oh, and by the way… would you go out for the next day or so, wave your hands over your head and yell, “HOODIE-HOO?” You know. Just in case.
Have a great week, and plan now to join us for worship with the family at 9:30 or 11:00a.m. Pastor Bill will be preaching from 1 John 2:28-3:3.
