Did you know? Pastor’s Gary’s daytime job is as a teacher at The Oaks: A Classical and Christian Academy in Spokane Valley.  He teaches sixth grade in the Grammar School.

Fun Facts: I’m a Friday Night Seating Host/Usher at Safeco Field, Home of the Seattle Mariners. I can stand on my head indefinitely… 🙂

My Education/Training: In 1980 I received my B.A. in Music Education from Northwest Nazarene University. I received my M.S.T. (Masters in Choral Conducting) from Portland State University in 1989. I am also an Ordained Deacon in the Church of the Nazarene since 2006.

My Favorite Thing About Spokane First: Celebration Choir, Worship Teams and Praise Bands, Sound and Media Team, and a loving congregation.

My First Job: Lawn Care and Neighborhood Newspaper Route

My Favorite Books: The Bible and the Mitford Series.

Restaurants I Can’t Get Enough Of: Clinkerdagger, Twigs, Prospector’s, Cracker Barrell, Didiers, Wall St. Diner, and Frank’s Diner.

Movies: “Game Plan”, “Facing the Giants”, “Blind Side”, “What About Bob”, and “Little Women”.

TV Shows: “Gilligan’s Island”, “Get Smart”, and “Dragnet”. Some of my favorite sports to watch are the Mariners, the Seahawks, NFL, all College Sports, Football and basketball particularly.

Music: I love all musical styles except “Heavy Metal.” Classical, Jazz, all Sacred music (traditional and contemporary.)

History with Spokane First Church of the Nazarene: I came to Spokane 1st Church in August, 2003.
